Solved Footnotes not working

I'm considering moving our blog into Joomla. In preparation for that, I need to ensure that I have the same or similar functionality. I use footnotes extensively in the blog (marking the text with [ref] [/ref] so I'm familiar with the process). Since your footnote extension is the only one available for Joomla, I downloaded it and installed it. Then, I created a test footnote. Much to my surprise, it did not work.

I see footnotes on your site, and they work as expected, so I'm not sure why they're not working on my test site.
