Top Topics module was created by sozzled
A few of years ago I wrote a module for Joomla (for K 1.5 on J! 1.5) that displayed the "most popular topics"—that is, the topics in a Kunena forum that have been viewed the most number of times.

A couple of years ago a few people asked if I could update the original module so that it would work with K 2.0. I did not have a lot of interest in rewriting this module at the time (and, besides, I knew that it would take a couple of days of my time to do it) and so the job was never done.

The original version is still available—although I cannot imagine why anyone would want it because it does not work with the latest versions of Joomla or Kunena—and people still download it! So I figured if there was a "need" for this I might as well update the work that I began over 5 years ago.

I am pleased to be able to announce that I have created the Top Topics for Kunena module for K 3.0 on J! 3.4—and it is available for download here.

In order for me to complete this task, I contacted a couple of the Kunena team developers for some extra assistance. Thanks to Matias Griese and Jelle Kok for their expert help and guidance.

As much as I would love to distribute this module free-of-charge, I promised Matias and Jelle that I would donate a few dollars to them for their time. Because I have spent money and several hours building the module, I cannot give it away for nothing but it is free for subscribed members of this website to download and use as they like (along with all of the Kunena templates that I have built and other premium content). Of course, if anyone has any questions about the module I am quite happy to answer them. You paid for it and you deserve the "after sales" service.

I will soon install the module on my demonstration website so that you can see it in action. Watch this topic for news about that.

Features: The ability to restrict the list of "most-viewed topics" to the last n months or x days. List the top 10 "most-viewed topics" (by default) or list fewer or more as you decide.

Restrictions: The module currently supports English (en-GB) but it is not difficult to translate the output into any other language. If someone really requires the output in a different language, I can do this at no extra charge (although, of course, you can only expect to get a "Google Translate" version). It's easy enough to translate the language strings into any other language that you might like. ;)
